We welcomed two new members, Anne Artus and Valaine Bell.
Today there were several lively discussions. First we talked about Theresa May’s proposal to allow the return of Grammar Schools. Divided opinions, not surprising for such a contentious issue, though we saw the wisdom of providing young people with an education as far as ability will take them.
Then on to talk about an MP’s decision to resign due to his fundamental disagreement with aspects of his party’s policy.
Finally talk of the triple lock on pensions – is this too generous to pensioners?
