February Meeting

Elaine had set the challenge for members this month to produce a dish containing one fresh vegetable and one preserved vegetable.

Six members rose to the challenge and produced the following:

  • Small Cheese and Onion Scones ( a Delia Smith receipe)
  • Courgette au gratin.
  • Asparagus and potato tart.
  • Spicy Cajun Casserole.
  • Vegetable Curry.
  • Spicy Spanish Chicken Casserole.

All the dishes were enjoyed by the members before they had their afternoon cup of tea.

After the break Elaine discussed the programme for the next few months and once again appealed for someone to take on the leadership of the group. Elaine has arranged the programme up to September but will then be standing down. Please give some thought to this problem and if one person feels unable to take on the leadership, maybe two people could share the job.

The subject for March will be a talk on Vegetables (Nutrition).
