Gill gave an interesting talk on the history of soups which was followed by five members presenting the cold soups they had made and brought along for us to taste.
Jenny Cucumber soup
Avril Gazpacho soup
Elaine Watercress soup
Eileen Pea soup
Rosemary Lemon soup
Each soup was tasted and discussed and the general feeling was that a cold soup would be very enjoyable on a hot summers day.
Tea and coffee were served accompanied by carrot muffins.
After refreshments Eileen ran though the forthcoming meetings. Next month we will meet in the Wine Bar in Duke Street at 1.00 p.m. where we will have a platter of food to share and three wines to taste at a cost of £10.00. There will not be a meeting in September.
However on FRIDAY, 9TH OCTOBER, AT 10.30 a.m. we will meet at Waterperry for their Apple Day. Please share cars where possible.
December will be our Christmas Party and the theme this year will be “Germany”.
