History

Aims and Objectives

True history is the story of people and their lives in times past and it is not just confined to the dry knowledge of dates, military campaigns and monarchs

At the monthly meetings of the History Group, attempts are made to explore the widest range of historical events, topics and people through the ages by means of informative talks, discussions and the occasional outing to places of interest.

What we do

With a monthly turnout of over 30 members, we are a welcoming and sociable group.

Meetings vary, sometimes we have group discussion where three or four members volunteer to present a short talk on a pre-selected topic; we sometimes have an outside speaker; we also have the occasional outing to a place of historic interest.
