Important Information – Courier Fraud

COURIER FRAUD – PRINCES RISBOROUGH

Please see below a message and attachment from Thames Valley Police.
A neighbour who watches an elderly person who lives next door, has reported a potential Courier Fraud to us.  The elderly neighbour reported that she had received a phone call from the Fraud Squad to say that her bank account was at risk.  They asked her to withdraw £2,500 and transfer it into another account, where it will be safe.  She went into her bank and did this.  Can everyone tell everyone that they know – friends, neighbours, work colleagues and relatives – not to believe a phone call from the Fraud Squad asking them to remove / transfer cash !

Following on from the recent message(s) about Courier Fraud, further reports have now been received and many more thousands of pounds has been handed over to these fraudsters by victims ageing from 70 through to 90+. Life savings gone in a flash by simply handing it to a stranger!!!!!

THIS MUST STOP!

During the coming week, Princes Risborough Neighbourhood Policing Team will be out and about in full Police uniform and knocking on doors to highlight our concern. This is a difficult task as we will not be able to reach everybody. Please spare a few minutes and visit your neighbours, family or friends to help us get this message out there.
