Jayne Austen Tea Dance

Tea Dance on Saturday 24 February – a great success at the second attempt!

After having to postpone this from last June it was lovely to have such a well-attended and successful occasion. The caller did a great job in showing us and then reminding us what to do and how to do it.

It was brilliant to see that almost everyone danced every dance, but also that some members did come along to watch and had a good time too. There was punch, old-fashioned lemonade and ginger beer and water available all through the afternoon. We had two breaks: a savoury and a sweet, with Regency-style cakes made by the Food and Wine group, and tea/coffee was served then. The tables made us feel ready for spring with decorations by the Gardening group.

Members took me at my word: there were dancing outfits from 1818 to 2018, and everyone looked lovely.
