Music Appreciation Group report on March 2017 meeting

Dick Darke talked about the rise in popularity of band stands following one built by Prince Albert in Kensington Gardens which encouraged many towns to have their own.  Their popularity waned when many were dismantled so the iron could be used for the war effort.

He then played music by a number of brass bands to show the type of music in this genre.
