The suggestion of visiting Adam’s Farm, the rare breeds farm in the Cotswolds, proved so popular that together with members from neighbouring U3As, we filled two coaches for the day visits.
There was the opportunity to walk along a path through fields to see many rare farmyard breeds. The majority were unknown to us but there was very good signage and information.
Many of us chose to go on the tractor trip, which took us to see the larger animals grazing in the fields nearer the farmhouse. In the distance we were able to see the film crew and Adam Henson recording an item for Countryfile.
The day ended with a visit to the lambing sheds, the shop and, of course, the tea room.
