Aims and Objectives

Our Aim is to increase the fun of photography.

Our Objectives are:  to learn something new at every meeting; to encourage all members to take photographs they would not normally take; to ensure that all members can get the best from their equipment; to involve all members in presenting the results of their photography; and so to increase the number of members to a minimum of 20.

When we learn something useful we may post it on our More on Photography   page. Why not click on the link and see what we have there.

AEC v1.0.4

For the full schedule for this group follow this link: Interest Group Calendar Although we have a programme for the next few months it may change especially as outings may be weather dependant.

There will also be 4 ‘Special Photography’ Days out during the year where we will gain experience in more unusual subjects. Topics currently proposed are visits to a Birds of Prey Centre, Didcot Railway Steam Day, Shuttleworth Air Museum/Centre on a Flying Day, and a ‘behind the screens’ visit to the Hearing-Dogs-for-Deaf-People head office/training centre at Saunderton.

Other topics frequently arise and there is always lively discussion about how to get the most enjoyment from our hobby.

What we do

We encourage members to learn more about photography and photographic techniques and to get more from the equipment that they use. This can be through a discussion of images we have brought in (either prints or on a memory stick), through a visit to an exhibition or by setting ourselves a project and heading out with our cameras.  At the end of each year we have a photographer of the year competition.   Search the site for previous articles on Photography to see some of the things we have done.

Our More on Photography   page contains  some useful information.
