Beetle Drive

On Friday 29 September we held a well-attended fun event for members to join a table to play ‘Beetle’ – a game requiring no skill but just a quick dice throw and a bit of luck. Each round the highest and lowest scorers moved on to other tables  and off we went again. We played twelve rounds: everyone had a great sociable time and David Brown moved table so often he got back to the beginning! In the middle we paused for a cheese and pate supper with lemon tart pudding. A free raffle made three people have an extra-special evening. Prizes for the highest three scorers overall were so closely contested that there was a three-way tie for second place behind the winner, Mike Pullen. The final round was something a bit different, with a fun beetle drawn for creativity and humour, won by Gail Walters.
