Fourteen members braved the bitter weather and attended our January meeting.
Elaine had found a video featuring Gordon Ramsay, Walter Trupp and Pierre Gagnaire who gave tips on various methods of cooking. We then had a quiz on the video and other cooking methods. There were twenty-two questions and Christina Mansfield came first with 18 points, Norman Beille with 15 points and Anne Whelan third.
A break for tea, with delicious Christmas cake and biscuits, before we discussed the programme for the next few months.
In February, members will be producing a dish containing one fresh and one preserved vegetable.
When Beryl died suddenly in the summer, Elaine kindly took over and has guided us through the last six months. She now wishes to hand over to someone else as she is finding running two groups too much. Please think seriously about taking over this task as it would be a shame for this popular group to fold. Anyone who is interested please contact Elaine.
New members are always very welcome to come and share their culinary skills. Our programme for the year may be found in the next edition of PReVIEW.
