Food & Wine – February 2016

A treat for the ladies!

Geoff gave us his usual titbits from the news and this was followed by an interesting talk on the history of St. Valentine’s Day by Richard.

Geoff and his team, Richard, Michael, Don, Dick and Frank with further help from Phil and Bob gave the ladies a treat this month by providing them with a delicious tea:

Ham and smoked salmon sandwiches made by Dick.
Home made bread cucumber sandwiches made by Michael.
Cup cakes, complete with silver balls, were made by Richard.
Buttered scones made by Don.
Mini tarts made by Geoff.

The men, smartly dressed in white shirts, black trousers and bow ties,  waited upon the six tables filling teacups as soon as they were emptied and generally seeing that everyone had sufficient to eat.

The afternoon finished with a glass of Presecco.

A big thank you to Geoff and his team for this enjoyable afternoon, not to mention Eileen keeping a watchful eye on all the proceedings.

In March the theme will be St. Patrick’s and other Saints Days of the British Isles.
