GARDENERS’. WALKER’S AND WILDLIFERS’ CHRISTMAS PARTY
On Monday, December 16th we held our joint Christmas party with the Walking and Wildlife Groups in the Carrington Room. We (about 60 people) had a wonderful time with a mouth-watering spread of festive food brought in by members of all groups. The meeting started with an excellent talk on “Beautiful Britain” by the well-known, RHS listed speaker, John Negus, who entertained us with a superbly photographed slide show and lots of humour and interaction. The audience was rewarded with the chance to win prizes of books, seeds, tools and other gardening items. A great start to our party.
This was followed by the social part of the meeting, when we all tucked into the lovely food and wine. A presentation was made to Jacqui Kennedy, for her work as the Group Leader of the Wildlife Group, and we do hope that the Group will re-invent itself in time for the next joint Christmas Party. A very, merry afternoon putting us all in the mood for Christmas.
